Expansion a Major Boom for the Region

Collie Hills Village • October 28, 2026

Collie Hills Village has always played a role in the town’s economy and community, both directly and indirectly.

But with the recent expansion, the positive effects on the local economy have become increasingly more evident.

“With several hundreds of workers coming through the Village each week, that spending creates business for operators across Collie,” says Village Manager Chris Brettig. “It helps the town, it helps other businesses, it helps the whole community.”

These include:

Jobs:

we employ nearly 50 staff, many living in the town of Collie, with others commuting from the wider region.

Trades:

when we need a painter, plumber or sparky, homegrown crews get the first call.

Produce & supplies:

from Dardanup steaks in the dining room to building products for on-site works, we buy from the region wherever we can.

Community:

from being sponsors of the Collie Eagles Football Club, to opening our dining room to locals for special events, we actively look for ways to genuinely serve the community.

The flow-on effect

While some interstate guests do fly in, the majority drive. They will fill up at the servo, grab a pie at the bakery and shop in the main street. That all adds up to steady trade for businesses all over town.

The main lesson learned? “What is good for the Village ends up being good for the town” says Chris.

Collie looks after us, and we’re proud to return the favour.
